What state do you think the Simpson's live in?!

Question: I know they never say, but they drop hints.

Answers: I know they never say, but they drop hints.

Funny thing is that there is a Springfield and a Shelbyville very close together in Illinois...my parents live right in between the two, but as far as I know...it is supposed to be Oregon (Matt Groening's home state).

Hey...did you know that Matt Groening's dad's name is Homer and his mom's name is Marge? Not only that, but he felt like he had to make it up to his dad for causing Homer to be synonymous with "oaf", so he named his own son Homer??

pennsylvania

ohio

what? everyone knows that there are from Springfield Illinois

massachussetts

Illinois.

Ohio, they live with me! lol

Illinois

Oregon! Cuz it's where Matt Groening grew up!

Edit: I just found this on another Wikipedia page...
"Many fans of the TV show The Simpsons believe this to be the Springfield of the show, This has been confirmed by Matt Groening himself when he sent a plaque saying, in part "Yo to Springfield, Oregon - the real Springfield."
The city was voted on as one of the sixteen possible Springfields across the nation to host the premiere of The Simpsons Movie."

state of dysfunction and confusion.

They are the twisted version of A Prairie Home Companion......Minnesota.

I think Ohio....

Missouri.

positive that thye capital is capital city, the writers said in the last episode they could say, no official time saying it yet

Wyoming

I had always thought Tennessee, as it's the only state i can find with both a Springfield and a Shelbyville, but the consensus seems to be AS STATED above, Oregon.

I think somewhere the mid-west..... :0)

According to the show's producer, David Silverman, Springfield is in the fictional state of North Tacoma. The show uses the abbreviation NT or TA on licence plates etc.

North Tacoma has a Confederate flag on their state flag, which is embarrassing as it wasn't one of the Confederate states. The capital is Capitol City. Its state motto is: "Not just another state!" The governor of North Tacoma is Mary Bailey, who is a Democrat. She appears to be named after the wholesome Donna Reed character from "It's a Wonderful Life".

Have a look at this link about the geography of Springfield:

as they say in the film

'look at that, you can see four states that border Springfield, Ohio, Nevada, Maine and Kentucky

Definately Illinois, but they made it Spring Field, so that there was no waves, so to speak. Know wutta mean? Spring Field is as common as Elm St., now, do you know wutta mean? lol. I was looking at Google Earth in my city, and for the longest time I thought it was my neigborhood, in my area, but no. It was totally a another state. Many of the streets were the same. It was like, Washington runs north and south, not east and west. I thought. "Damn, this Google is good. They know which way streets run before the constuction crew even does". LOL!

I think they announced that not too long ago. It was Connecticut.
