Do you think that the BMV is putting our lives at risk by letting old people dri!

Question: I'm not trying to be a punk about this, but there is a guy who drives semi that comes in where I work, he can barely hear and it looks like it takes all he's got to walk in here..I mean do you really think that's safe for other people...I think they shouldn't let older people drive after a certain age...

I agree with you. They should be required to pass a special test that includes the road test.It is not just a safety issue for them but all others that are on the road. I was stuck behind an elderly woman yesterday. She was driving 15 mph,she wasn't sure of where she was going and she was so short she could not clearly see over the steering wheel. She was an accident waiting to happen and really had no business being on the road with such poor driving skills.

DMV

i agree with you

I do think they should re-test after age 70.....
lots of people that age are fine & have their senses & reflexes intact....
but the ones that don't, statistically kill more people than teens..... look it up

bmv? dnv?

huh?

the planet i'm from it's called DMV. OR sometimes the MVA.

I agree

Probably.
You just have to keep an eye out for the Blue Hairs. And avoid a Buick with the left blinker stuck on. There is a retiree behind (and maybe barely able to see over) the steering wheel!

BMV? wtf? its DMV. old people shouldnt drive. only old people (and asians) would drive 20 miles under the speed limit with their blinker on.

How old is old? You might want to answer this when you are old. I agree to a point. Some "old" people realize when they can't drive anymore.

Yes they should be re-tested after a certain age...

My dad at the age of 88 was driving and should not have been on the road. He would just run right through red lights. He finally did get into a horrible accident. By the looks of the car he, my mom and son should have been dead or critical. God protected my son, he just had a scrap on his head. I know it is difficult for older people to give up their driving rights, but in alot of cases it has to be done. I see some people that really scare me too.

yes,i agree with you 100%! after the age of 70 they should deny a senior their license to drive, regardless whether theyre good drivers or not,my parents are "perfect examples" of this, mom is 89 and my father is 94,they both had brain injuries and were told not to drive anymore,my dad is comfortable with this, but not my mother, shes not going to be told "NO" by anyone and thinks nothing of getting behind the wheel and taking off! im protesting this by refusing to get in the car with her. my dad drives too he get lost and is always confused ,its sick, what makes these seniors think they are 20 years old and fit to drive ill never know! i just hope my parents dont cause an accident someday, and god forbid if something were to occur,i hope im not in that car!

I agre! And you go get'em! I knew what you meant and I aint the brightest penny in the bank!
