I have never smoked by my mom did for 60 years. She quit without a patch or nicotine gum. The way she did it was she first decaffeinated herself -- slowly. Caffein feeds the nicotine cravings. Next, she kept a log for a week of the times she smoked. The following week, she would extend her time between cigarettes by 1/2 each time. She kept doing that, every week extending by another 1/2 hour. Finally she was down to 1 cigarette in the morning and 1 at night. She then started physically cutting them smaller and smaller and when they were just a puff or 2, she stopped. She didn't have any cravings or withdrawal symptoms. She didn't gain any weight either.
I figured if she could do it after smoking for 60 years -- anyone can do it. Good Luck!

I never smoked but many people around me did. Many have tried lots of way to quit. The only way that I have seen work is cold turkey. From a psychological standpoint, the nicotine is out of your system in a matter of days, but the habit is still there for a month. Smoking for most is a big deal. They take a break every 20-30 minutes to go smoke, quiting that ritual is very hard.

I ask Jesus to forgive me of my sins and he did! The desires to smoke, cuss, do drugs and alcohol, were completely taken away and I have not had one desire to pick up these habits ever again and this has been over 15 years ago. No withdrawals, no headaches, Jesus gave me a new life and I have been walking free ever since. The glory goes to Him and He will do this for anyone who calls upon Him....
