it happens to most of us, you just need to decide how much you are going to allow yourself to put out there before getting a return on the time & energy you invest. then you should adjust. it may sound calculated, but hey... whatever. you should not constantly give support & love to people that do appreciate & return it.

I believe that the government takes WAY too much out of my paycheck, and spends that money on the wrong things...and our government is trillions in debt right now financing a war that I'm against...
So, yes...
I DO put out more than I get back in income alone...
And I generally help people far more often that I get help from them...not complaining...I prefer it that way...

I am a "big giver" myself although I have no regrets, sometimes, I feel other people's problems and pains as if they were mine and I get a stiffed neck from "their" stress.
Often times I feel that way, I know most of you think us guys are incapable of this kind of support, but I think I am right on. Somedays it would be nice if I was the one being pampered.
No! I can not say that I do!!!!!
I tend to be the same way but as I am getting older, I am finding myself trying to make myself happy first.
I find my happiness in seeing other people truly happy, so I get the best of both worlds.
