With the amount of "Health & Safety" legislation, should we...?!

I am involved in H&S at work and we have specialists who come in and do risk assessments for us. Some of the things that they advise really are ridiculous. One year they said we needed something to remove dog doo from around the site!! We don't have any dogs at work!
Some of it is useful, i.e. making sure that technicians wear correct protective clothing, but other things really are common sense. Trouble is that people see the things advised and if something really common sense isn't adhered to then they think that they have a case to sue!
We the public, should start expressing our views; we should inform our representatives in government of just how ridiculous some of the legislation is.
Why stop at stupid people?
why not do both, hehehe
