Why are cats so difficult to photograph?!

Question: my cat is black so its hard enough to get a good pic, but when I call him he looks away as if to say " you are not worthy to see my beautiful face " then he turns around . I could get a good pic of his spokes but thats it. Why are cats so narsicistic?

my cats all love having their pics taken. maybe you need to get some paparazzi action.
They've a good reason to be. After all, they are beautiful.
because they are moody "beings"!!
Coz like children, they're always moving.
Dont use a flash!
I usually try to catch them unaware. I have 3 black cats so I know what you mean.
i don't know. they like looking away..what i do is put a toy or piece of food right above the camera lense and then my cat usually looks at the camera..try it..

i dont know why i was taking pictures of my cat.
they're just hoity-toity enough, that they'd rather be painted. but, they wont sit still for that.
lmao know! i work at a vet's office so i always try and take pics of the animals, but this cat Rocky when i tried to take his pic he kept turning away and refused to let me take it lol
Catch him when he's sleeping. When he just wakes up. It's so hard to catch mine when shes not sleeping.
My cat is like a child, she never does what I want her to do when it is photo time!!! I just keep on clicking!
The cat is looking for a modeling contract so you should probably discuss this with its agent.
LoL! You should try taking a photograph of my puppy, he jumps and leaps and lunges everywhere and runs around hyper you can't even follow him with a video camera!
Your cat is probably retarded. You must have a cat with closed eyes to get a good photograph. lol
I dont know I own a dog.But this would probably work, hide and when he walks by and wherever your hiding if you can get his face SNAP that camera!
I run into the same problem.
And i have 4 cats.
They don't like to stay still.
They will move to much, or to fast.
The camera basically has to be with you every second of the day to get a picture that's nice.
I think that the best way to photograph your cat is catch him off guard and snap the pic.
there afraid of camereas (or at least the flash)
and their always moving
Your cat wants a better contract. You must get in touch with his agent.
My cat is a TOTAL camera whore...

You need to get a camera that has an optional remote or a timer setting...

Then you can put it down and get a pic when she isn't looking.

OR, wait until she is asleep and catch her that way!

Always worked for me!
They're not - they're confident. They know who they are, what they're capable of and how beautiful they are (no matter what color, size, shape they are).
They don't need praise from us to know this so, of course, having their picture taken is completely unnecessary.
The best cat shots I ever got were the ones I took when they didn't know I was there.
Never had problems with my cats! For difficult cats I usually have something to distract them.
when i want to take pictures of my cat i talk to her the whole time and ask her questions and she pays attention and looks at the camera. some days she is reall photogenic and some days its like she purposely moved when i snaped the photo.
i guess they don't sit still.. :0
I know, their stinkers. Mess with ones minds. They look at a camera and know when your going to click the shutter.
I don't know why. It is what it is, I think that's the real beauty of cats.
i think dogs are worst see my cat luvs taking pictures but my dogs wont even go up to me if i call them with a cam in my hand :]
mines like to pose

and plus he's fat and lazy so i can get good pictures
Cat's minds are auctually more complex than you would think. They don't react to light very well because they're a nocturnal animal. That's why they're so lazy during the day, and frisky at night. So if you want to get a picture of your cat, make sure that the flash is off and get it's attention with a treat that has meat and/or poultry because they are carnivores as well.
You have to distract them with something like a string or sock.
Lay on your bed or couch and dangle a string over you cats head or drag a string in front of cat while lying on the floor and have someone take a picture while he is pawing at the string or looking in the direction of the string.
Maybe it's becoz he's afraid he will cough up a huge furball just as you click the camera.
Because us cats are us too beautiful to be filmed. Meow.
