Why do a lot of teachers call their students "hon"?!

Question: I am one of those students who gets called "hon." I think it is kind of strange.

Answers: I am one of those students who gets called "hon." I think it is kind of strange.
It's the maternal side of women I think.
I'm sorry, Hon, but I do it all the time to ladies. Doesn't matter age. Habit
In MY case, when the teacher called me "hon" she was referring to my "honor" and "honesty!"

Of course, I was home schooled, at night, when sleeping - in dreams!
you think that's strange? a cop was giving me grief one time over nothing and in a moment of stupidity i called him "hon".
mine calls us "sweety", and "my sweet". it fricking scares the crap outta me..
They sometimes forget student names and don't want to appear stupid.
I'm teacher and I do it too, although usually I say "sweetie" or "dear"
I don't know that happened to me a few days ago.I walked into my science class and she looked up and said hey hon what are you doing?
Haha, I just got called hun on Friday but I bet it's just cause she wants a favour. That's why she called me over anyway ;P
Jeez, they shouldn't be doing that!

Each student has a name!! If she/he can't remember they name, they should put names tags on the students!

If this is happening to you = the next time you go to school ~+~ wear a name tag (a big one ) maybe they'll get the hint!!!
