Sadly, with more people living in tract homes with no yards, apartment complexes, etc, there is a lot less room for kids to develop skills (building the tree house) and their imaginations in using them for space ships, the Titanic, Swiss Family Robinson scenarios, etc.

Ps i crashed my head when i accidently broke a nail and brought the whole tree house to the ground from a 9 feet tree.

Yes. We had a bunch of trees forst in the woods behind a friends house. Sadly the land was sold, and they tore everything down.

I also had a fort in my back yard.
