Answers: It Doesn't Change The Points. Why not be generous and make them feel good? I love to get Best Answer but when it only merits a one star rating, I am kinda sad. I always give a 5 star rating. YAY ME!!!! Give BA's 5 star ratings!!! Please?

Because too often a lousy answer is chosen as best answer.
I think that this happens if the asker. doesn't really care to have it right-they know the answer their looking for ahead of time. When I'm moved-one way or the other is when I vote-not just because I'm here for your ego.If you get sad over stars that mean nothing, I would say you need find something you can be proud of. Would you be proud to have maxed out stars everytime, knowing it was BS? Now turn off your computer, go outside and breathe some fresh air.

I guess, sometimes the best answer doesn't mean it's fully satisfying. It just means it was the best among the ones that were given.

Anyway, I also give away 5 stars... to make people feel good but not necessarily because they actually satisfied me 100 %.

Wow,at last I found someone who is just like me.I give 5 stars to everyone too.I'm happy that I made atleast one person as happy as I can possibly do.That's a great opinion.I do wish more people would follow it.
I do feel kinda sad when my BA get just 2 or 3 stars.

To be honest, i am trying to figure out when yahoo answers became a game. it's people trying to look for help and advice. it's not supposed to be just about points, which makes me wonder on why this question even exists. if you're going to rate someone, it should be for what they deserve. you can't just say, i made up some answer so give me all fives. it doesn't work that way.

because some times the answers just arent worth 5 stars they are just the best answer of the ones that you received.

i dont feel bad about giving or getting 3 stars but its frustrating when you think your answer deserved more and you only got 1. So i can kinda see your point but i think there is a reason for the whole starring feature...

It may be because the answer is a poorly-stated one. There are a lot of times when one selects the answer only to get the 3 points. A lot of answers for many questions are unsuitable.
