Answers: It depends on which flashlight you mean. I've got a big Dolphin flashlight that takes a large 9 V battery, I have a smaller one that takes 2 "D" cells, a smaller one again that takes two penlights (AAs) and a keyring one that takes button cells.

I have like 5 in my house. They use all different batteries from AAA to AA to C's and D'c. One uses a nine volt. I finally got one that you don't have to use batteries on--you just shake it from side to side. It is probably the only one in the house that is actually working right now!!!
