Yep, I believe it! I was single at 28 and took a long, hard look at myself. I rededicated my life to God and decided that when HE chose my future husband, I'd date again. I was 'single' for all of 6 months before I met HIM, and after 6 months of dating and a 6 month engagement, we married. That was 15 wonderful years ago -- so try it HIS way!

Uh, I don't even get the dude's statement. How do you know if God sent that guy along or if the devil did? I think you can still do the choosing with God in mind (if that's what you want to do). I think he's trying to send you an underhanded insult by accusing you of somehow being "un-Christian" (if that is what you are--BTW, answer still applies no matter what religion). Perhaps God keeping you single because you may have something to learn yet.
It doesn't matter anyway. That guy does NOT have the answer to why you are single. As Ann Landers has said--keep learning and growing and your time will come.

Thats the first time I ever heard that god helps people find mates. Maybe you are still single because you have a set of standards to protect you from ending up in a bad situation that you cannot escape without ruining the lives of everyone involved.
Just remember, out of the top 10 states with the highest divorce rates, 9 of them are in the bible belt.
