Do you know of any substitute teachers that actually have control over their cla!

Question:

Do you know of any substitute teachers that actually have control over their classes?

I was thinking about becoming one, but according to my kids it may be a bad idea.

Answers: Dude you have to take control. I've had substitute teachers that were total pushovers cuz they didn't know what they were doing and I've had some that were strict. It's up to you yeah right? does that actually happen? I remember in school - 20 years ago.

We really did not take them seriously.

I dont think it has gotten any better the way the schools are
today. No. All of our subs in school would just let us watch movies and the class got out of control. no My best friend is a substitute teacher and is often complimented on her teaching abilities and is told that she is better than the standard teacher. (This is on medium to long term covers rather than one-day-let's-just-play-games cover)

I think how the children act is a reflection on the teacher's skills. It's all in how you present yourself to the class on if they will respect you or not. You must have rules but still be the cool substitute so they will want you back....
Just let them know who is boss and you are not there to take any crap or games, and that they are still there to learn. Just make it fun!!
GL lol... if u be tough enough u may get the kids to respect u.... i'd say teach 3-4th graders. They are old enough to understand what is good and what is bad. But be tough on them. I would let them watch some sort of fun movie, and let them sit wherever they want. But tell them they have three warnings. After the third warning, turn off the movie and give them all boring worksheets. That way, they know you arent the stupid and boring kind of substitute. substitute teachers? oh man well im a student and we actually are like yaaaaa substitute! and we do the funniest things, and switch our names around and once my friend pretended he didn't speak any english and well, i think you get the picture they don't really have much control, there was this one and whenever she wasn't looking people would leave the classroom! But if your nice and kind of strict at the same time you will have control, i've seen it happen, but there are always going to be some uncontrollable classes. When I was kid, we always gave the substitute a hard time. Like one time, my class had a sub named Mr. Wooley. So, someone wrote Mammoth after his name when he wasn't looking. So, I'd say you shouldn't become a substitute. None of the kids take subs seriously.
