If I have to share the road with cyclist, Shouldn't they need to have insura!

Question:

If I have to share the road with cyclist, Shouldn't they need to have insurance and an inspection sticker too?

They people on there bikes think they own the whole road cause we got to "share" with them then its MY fault if I hit them? GET OUTA THE ROAD!!!

Answers: What irritates me is when they go flying thru red lights and stop signs as if they didn't need to obey the laws of the road. That's a good point! Never thought of that before... amen, I'm right there with you, i live in NC mountains and they are everywhere, sometimes there is a whole long line of them and you cant even get around them until you come to a straight away! its aggravating and I'm afraid i will nudge one of them if i cant get over enough because of on coming traffic

i wish there were more bike paths like there are where im from in Florida! it would be alot safer WORD! At least you're not around here. "Biker Bob" the local homeless drunk rides his bike in and out of traffic whistling without a clue that we're 2 inches from running his old a** off the road. Actually he's a really nice dude but he's not all there if ya know what I mean ;) some people on bikes should have a licence to ride a bike...or a brain Yes I agree. They can get dui's. So why not. Bicycles don't have an engine and they're too light to seriously injure someone other than the cyclist if something fails on the bike. I can't imagine the waste of time and money if everyone was required to get their bicycle inspected and have it insured. I have this mental image of little kids with their pink and blue Huffy bikes lined up for inspections.
I love riding my bicycle. Unfortunately there is no safe place for me to ride other than the road. I'm still recovering from being attacked by a dog that wasn't restained while cycling. I've nearly been driven off the road by careless motorists. I always wear a helmet. My bicycle has reflectors and a rear view mirror and I never ride at night or wearing anything (like an ipod) that impairs my ability to hear traffic. I also use hand signals when turning. Motorists are supposed to know them but most don't so often instead of turning, I have to bail off the road into a ditch to avoid being hit. I always ride as far over to the side of the road as possible and obey all traffic laws and still I have motorists nearly hit me. It's so dangerous, I rarely ride any more. I'm sorry if my bicycling interferes with your ability to eat, tune your radio and take cell phone calls while you drive. As far as I'm concerned you can GET OUTA THE ROAD!!! you know what also bothers me about them is they don't pay gas tax and that is what is used to maintain the roads. They say they pay it on gas for their car but then let them drive the car on the roads not the bike.

While biking is healthy, good exercise, non-polluting and easier on the roads they do get sort of obnoxious like they own the road and will consider letting cars use it instead of the other way around. I know what you mean especially if they are teenagers, they ride right in the middle of the road and won't frigging move, and they don't even have the sense to wear a helmet...grrrrrrr...>X-( dude [obviously trolling]

read your state vehicle code

if you want the law changed, go ahead and start the process

otherwise, all legal vehicles have a right to the road

wle.
