How can the"Public School System" improve Education? What should they teach more, what less?????
Answers: mathematics's and good English should always be in the curriculum, but some people are better academics and some are better at working with there hands.They should concentrate more on people's strength's and not make them do subjects that they are weak at. Fire bad teachers (unions will NEVER allow that)
Teach children how to function in adult world, job skills, ettiquette, manners, value of hard work, how to file taxes, etc.
Quit allowing teachers to spend 2 months "studying" on how to take one test. Life does not give you 2 months to study for your challenges, you have to be able to think on the fly.
Nice thoughts, but will never happen. Fire some teachers...they are the base of the education system pretty much. It's like if you have a bad bottom layer on a cake, all the yummy frosting will just come off. Quit putting the focus on parroting facts and teach the kids to think analytically. More use of the Socratic teaching method. Prioritize properly, i.e. Do not make geography a requisite but not offer a history class. Focus more on the process of learning than the end result. Quit treating the kids like a collective set of goods setting in an institution awaiting maturity. Get rid of state testing so that teachers can actually teach in the classroom and not to the test!
