Why do so many people associate shopping at thrift stores?!

Question:

Why do so many people associate shopping at thrift stores?

with being less fortunate?. Not only poor people shop there.

Answers: Yes, thrifty people with money know the value of the merchandise. That's how they save money. You're very right. Maybe they just associate it with being less fortunate because the prices are very low, which is good if you are less fortunate. Not everyone feels that way. I love Thrift Stores, Yard Sales, Dollar Stores, etc. I don't care how much money I have, I always look for a bargain. I refuse to pay an outrageous price for something that I can get at a cheaper place . I'd feel bad to spend a lot of money on something because of the label or designer name. There's to many people who are less fortunate who would love to have what we throw away.
