Meaning a citizen of the United States but not born on US soil.

I know you have to be an natural born citizen of the US. But do you think people would vote to amend the Constitution in order for a non-natural citizen to run for President.

You have to be a 'natural born U.S. citizen' to even run for president. This means that you have to be born in America, in a US territorial possession, or on a US military base or embassy in a foreign country to have a chance at being the president.

US law is centered around the principle of 'Jus Soli' which basically means that, to be considered a natural born U.S. citizen, you have to born on American soil, not just to American parents (you are typically considered a U.S. citizen if you are parents are American, but not a natural born citizen).
