Here's the origin of the expression: at the end of the day, workers would wash their hands "all washed up"!.!.!. they were done with work, tired, and had nothing left to do!.!.!. Hence the meaning!.!.!.!. So if an artist is washed up, he's not making anymore good music, and is old and tired!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Means that he is not any good anymore!. But you can't really say that about anybody!. He might surprise you someday!. Alice Cooper seemed to be washed up for several years before a major come back with the song Poison!. Same with Aerosmith before the release of Permanent Vacation!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
washed up it's over, I think it has more to do with sports as the athletic is to old to continue on, or just washed up finished, can't cope no more,
