What qualities do you look for in music?!

Question: What qualities do you look for in music!?
I guess what I want to know is what draws you in most!. Drums!? Lyrics!? Singing!? Emotion!? All of the above!? I notice now that as my taste in music has been changing, even what I listen for has changed!. My music choices used to be more driven by melody!.

Now, I find that what I listen to more is driven by not only emotion, but technical ability as well!.

What about you!? What do you look for in your music!?

Bonus Q: Songs about encouragement!. Not only do I have class tomorrow!. I have a final exam to take!

Please give examples!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Does it sound good to Suzy's ear!?

Why, yes! It does!

That's all that matters to me!.

But the thing I find myself most fussy about is vocals!. They don't even have to be a good singer, I just need to like the sound of their voice!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I really like music that has instruments in it like the drums, the guitar or heck even the keyboard but I love when bands will do something unique in a certain song like start off with a bass instead of a guitar or a drum solo like the song Painkiller by Judas Priest!. My favorite songs are Painkiller and Enter Sandman because they motivate me or inspire me because they are just those songs that really pump you up!. I look for that in most music :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I look for lyrics and how they connect to the person that is singing!. I also try to seek out their range!. I also have to have the melody carried by the proper lyrics because if it isn't balanced out I don't like the song in general!.

Some great encouraging songs,are bling(confessions of a king)by the killers, and Don't Stop Believin-Journey!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Singing ~Tolerable and not screaming throughout the whole song!.
Bass~Structured
Drums~Keeping a beat and has at least decent fills
Guitar~A mildly soft tone, catchy, and occasional jamming!.

BQ: I can't think of any, but I can think of some pump-up songs if you want those!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i like all types of music but i have hit upon an idea: what music draws people that want to show up and have a good time without drawing the people or crowd that just want to start trouble / fights or break up the over all connection between performers and the audience: bands great at this: the grateful dead, breakfast for america, moody blues, the eagles, journey,!.!.!. other more popular bands (with i admit awesome music) had a more aggressive crowd and it's just not the crowd i would want at a concert if i started a band!. guns n roses, ted nugent, ACDC, metallica, U2,!.!. the music shouldn't get the crowd out of control, cause pushing toward the stage and get people hurt or injured!. it's a show, people pay to be entained and i would want my band to have the reputation that you can take your kids there to see the show without any fear of something bad happening to them while they are at the concert!. the greatful dead had a lot of drug use at it's concerts but it had an atmosphere of we are all here and we take of each other while we are here!. they had the most loyal fan base that used to follow the band city to city while the band was on tour!. it goes back to being able to enjoy the show without the usual aggressive crowd bahavior!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
