They probably don't want their music on Youtube because it is so easy to download from the site!.
But for lesser-known musicians, I'd say it was so they got proper credit!. Again, anyone with half a brain can rip the audio off of a Youtube video, make their own video, and claim it was their song!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it's rather sad and petty of him, I mean, being on Youtube hasn't exactly 'hurt' Rick Astley's career, lol!. Talk about coming back from obscurity!. I'd think he'd be flattered to have his music out there, but hey, if he doesn't want it on a site with so many hits, that's his choice, and perhaps the downfall of his career, who knows!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
I will say that they will not be seeing a dime from me!. Thats how I decide if I want to buy a new cd or not!. I go to youtube and listen to their songs and if I like at least half then I go out and buy the cd!.

I can completely understand why an artist would not want anyone to be able to access their work for free at any time!. On the other hand, it really earns them publicity!. I know I've found a couple groups and artist on youtube that I've liked well enough to buy their music!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
