He's one of my favourite guitarists ever!. His solos are so beautiful & deep, when i listen to his playing i can completley zone out from everything else and just concentrate on every note and!.!.!.to be honest he amazes me!.
Take the solos in Comfortably Numb, for example, i often sleep to Comfortably Numb and listening to his solos relaxes me so much and just makes me so happy!

as a minimalist lead guitar player, He one if not the best!.

His solos are very boring and self-indulgent!.
Though I love his solo on Echoes in Pink Floyd live in Pompeii!.
on scale from 1 to 10 I would put him at 6!.
