As a trumpet undergrad, I was often faced with the same situation!.

While nothing but rest can thoroughly rejuvinate your lips, you might try this to get some vitality back to your chops:

playing VERY SOFTLY, play low e (or pedal tone bb if your arm gets tired) for a full breath!. do this a few times, and put the horn away!.

you can try this before you play, also!. it gets some of the life back!.

I used to do this on the trumpet (actually low f#) and it worked!. I assume the same thing will work on your trombone!.

tired chops are a muscle problem, not a skin problem!. ointments (such as aloe vera) will do nothing for tired chops!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Use a lip-balm with aloe-vera - it's soothing!. If your lips are tired there isn't a great deal you can do, but you need to keep them moist, protected from the air and try not to use them at all until you have to!. Good luck at the audition!Www@Enter-QA@Com

there's not a whole lot you can do now, but the important thing is to make sure you don't overdo it during your warm up!. keep your lips loose, cause when they're tired they can kinda tighten up easily!.

good luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com
