Question: I have to write a 6 page essay on a band or singer and!.!.!.!?
i have to write a 6 page essay on a band or singer for my history of rock class and i was thinking of doing Kings of Leon!. I have to do it in a certain format and that format is having 3 main topics you know!? so i was thinking that the first paragraph would be a biography about them, like talking about each member etc!. but i have NO idea what the other 2 topics should be!? or do you know of a better band that should have a lot of info about them so that i can get 6 pages out of it!?

First, don't select someone contemporary like Kings of Leon there won't be enough information out there and if you want to make it easy on yourself take a band that was controversial and has a long history, I have read biographies ect!. on the following bands and they would all be super easy to write a compelling paper on,
Led Zeppelin
The Rolling Stones
The Who
The Beatles (obvious I know but there's so much written about them)
Eric Clapton
And these are just the one's I personally know, if you pick any major classic rock band I don't think you can go wrong!.
I would personally write about Zeppelin I read the book "Stairway to Heaven: Led Zeppelin: Uncensored" and it had so many stories and gives I nice time line of their story, you could talk about the bands
my structure would be:
Introduction (Talk about the general climate of the music industry at the time and how it favored Zep's style)
1st topic: general history, Plant, Bonham, Jones, and Page's roots
2nd: Myths and rumors, a cloud of mystique followed the band around with stories of octopus in bathtubs and page's secret briefcase!.!.!. this would all be cool unorthodox stuff your prof hasn't heard about
3rd: Talk about some of their most famous songs and their inspirations and in general how the band progressed artistically through fame
Conclusion: Bonham's death and the breakup of the band in the early 80's!.!.!.!.conclude with their reunion in london last year

I would probably say go for an older band with a longer history and more albums!. You could perhaps devote one of the sections to and autobiography like you said, and another to reviews of the bands albums!. And im not sure about the other, perhaps analyze a particular song!.

the doors
those bands/singers will all have a TON of information on them!.
some topics could possibly be:

kings of leon is ok but i personly prefer escape the fate, cobra starship, fall out boy, forever the sickest kids, or tokio hotel!.
any ways, the second paragraph could be about how the band got formed
and the third could be about their acomlishments like rewards, hit songs, and albums and stuff!. you should also mention thier officail website!. well if ya want!.

With their heavy, guitar-driven sound, Led Zeppelin are known as one of the first heavy metal bands!. They were one of the biggest bands in the world from (1972–1978)
Another great part of the paper to wright about would be the way that the band's drummer died!. John Bonham had an over dose of alcohol!. One particular night though night he had (sixteen shots - or roughly 400ml - of vodka)!. But surprisingly it wasn't the alcohol that killed him, it was when he fell asleep that night!. During the night he had died from suffocation of vomit!.
That's just a few things to get you started!. Good luck on your paper, and I would strongly suggest using Led Zeppelin as the band to write it on!.
