Does anybody know what don maclean's american pie was about?!

It is about an event in Rock History called "The Day the Music Died" not only was Buddy Holly on the plane, So were Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper!. It was a terrible loss for musicians and fans the world over, and Don McLean wrote a song about it!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
