Sure the Coldpaly song isn't note for note and they changed it up with piano and violins but Satriani is claiming they "copied and incorporated substantial original portions" from his own track If I Could Fly!. Two really different sounding songs but the main core of Coldplay's song (the part that gets stuck in your head) is taken from Satriani's song!. Sorry, Satriani has a case!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Well obviously they are similar and it does sound like Coldplay have taken the chords from Satriani!. I think the question is did they do it on purpose!? I think it's very easy to subconsciously take a song from memory and use the tune for your own song!. There is so much music out there it's not unusual for for something like that to happen!. Coldplay should just apologise and pay Satriani what he is owed and get on with it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
