I am teaching a 18 yr old girl with some learning disability violin now!. You will for sure face some difficulties just as all the beginners!. But as long as you stick to it and don't give up, you will be able to play it!. Many times, I found her actually does better than my other students, because she doesn't have that much distractions in her mind and all she wants to do is play violin and get better!. That's all it needs!. Get a good patient teacher and practice as much as you can, you will get there!. Good luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I was 35 when I took up the violin!.

Before you even look at a note of music, you need to get yourself physically in shape!. You have to develop all sorts of muscles you would not normally use, especially in the neck, the left forearm, the right upper arm and both wrists!.

Grab a violin and a bow and stand in front of a tall mirror!. Practise bowing on each open string continually adjusting the grip on the bow thumb and fingers, and wrist until you can bow the full length on all strings absolutely square to the strings!. This will take a month or two, by which time your neck muscles will strengthen enough to hold the violin without holding it!.

Then you work on your left hand, training the ear to hear correct tones and semitones and the correct position of the stopping fingers!. Start in first position, and then work up the positions (second position starts a third up, and so on towards the bridge)!. Strengthen the left forearm by glissando sliding down the string while playing it!. In the end, you will have enough strength in your left arm to pull off a vibrato!.

Now you can start playing music!.

As long as your learning disability does not affect you ability to work the violin physically, and your ability to read and make music, then it should be perfectly possible!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes, but it might take time to find the right teacher for you!. Your private lesson teacher needs to understand your disability before they agree to lessons!. Good luck and congratulations! Playing a musical instrument is very rewarding!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Absolutely you can; your number one priority is to find a good private teacher who likes working with adults!.
