The CatholicChurch may have had an issue with it, but if you look at the religious antipathy of today, it really is NOT a stretch of the imagination to say the Beatles are more popular than Jesus!. Number of #1 songs, albums sold, etc!.!.!.all do support the Beatles being the real deal, whether folks like it or not)
In 15 years, Slipknot will be largely forgotten, while people will be gettin ready to Celebrate 60 years with the Beatles!. Personal tastes, preferances and biases aside, that right there is the measure at which the comparison fails!.
By all means, people have the right to like Slipknot more than the Beatles, and they are not Martians for doing so!.!.!.but!.!.!. it would be innacurate from a technical musical standpoint to actually call them BETTER, or the Beatles CRAP!.
I really do find it amazing how many people feel that if they are not a fan of a band, that the band has to be horrible, and cannot understand how everyone does not agree with them!. I bash some bands like anyone (especially Slipknot) mostly because they are horribly overrated, or I am trying to tease a friend (Adam) about them!.
