fugazi - nearly their entire catalogue is awesome!. i especially like anything on 13 songs or steady diet of nothing!.
why!? cuz its really high energy punk music that sounds really unique, coming from some of the most creative minds to come out of the hardcore scene!. plus they stand for something as a band!. which is something the latest string of punk rockers seem to leave out of the music, for better or worse!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Not to sound corny, but it really depends on your definition of "rock!."
I personally consider Poco a rock band, although many would argue they are country (and in fact are TCFCR [too country for country radio])!. My favorite song by them is "Indian Summer!."
If Poco is disqualified for being country, then I would defer to Talking Heads, and my favorite song of theirs is "Walk It Down!."
And, yes, I realize have having both Poco and Talking Heads at the top of a list of favorites is quite peculiar!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hard to pick a favorite Rock band, but whenever I hear Zeppelin's version of "When the Levee Breaks," I have to turn it up!. Way up!.
And I know it's a stupid song, but "Why Don't We Do It In the Road" kicks ***! (It was sung by some Liverpool group!.)
