it depends on what you consider to be a music video!. if you say any performance on tv set to music, well then that is as old as the camera itself since one of the first things ever filmed were ballerinas!. however, for an official band to have a movie entirely devoted to the visual depiction of their song, i believe it was video killed the radio star by the buggles!. i know my film!. :-)Www@Enter-QA@Com
That would be The Buggles - "Video Killed the Radio Star"!. It's on my MP3 player, and I remember seeing it when MTV debuted!. :)
Whoops - guess that's not what you're asking!. Sorry -Www@Enter-QA@Com

Omg, I am sooo old!. i actually remember this as a little kid- it was the Buggles, and the song, appropriately enough, was called " Video killed the Radio Star"!.
It was the beginning of an era- I'll never forget it : )
ok, then!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. (oops!)
Hmmm, I believe the Grateful dead had a few, and of course the Beatles had some, particuliarly with the movie " hard Dyas night" and the yellow submarine video!.
let's see, who else!.!.!.!.!.The Monkees!?!?
Wow, great! Thanks! I actually typed out my answer before I read your hints, too! yay me!
I immediately thought of the Monkees because I watched their re-runs every day after school when the made their big comeback in the 80's!. i was sooo in love with Davey Jones, ( thinking he still looked the way he did in the 60's, lol!!) I used to call the TV station everyday for a week to try to be the first caller, in order to win concert tickets for their comeback tour!.!. I didn't win- I had to settle for their tapes : (Www@Enter-QA@Com
