House music is essentially disco to the max!. It was probably the first real electronic music genre!. It originated in Chicago!. It has little to do with reggae, as a previous answer suggested, but reggae did have some influence on it!.

i think it depends on who u ask!. old school house is reggae esquewith like reggae style drumming and usually a jamaican sounding guy talking about smoking and what not
