Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Who, Bob Dylan, The Kinks, Cream, The Police, Guns n Roses, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Bob Serger, Queen, The Donnas, and the not last but very least: Ac/Dc
I may say in my opinion at the moment, there is also some other good bands, and I think some Ac/Dc songs/tracks sometimes do sound repetitive (the same) but it still sounds good for dances, fun, sing a long, etc!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I am no fan of heavy metal music, so if you are asking within that genre, I can't give you the name of a heavy metal band!.
If you want an answer in the world of modern music overall, I would definitely have to say the Beatles because of their creativity in both lyrics and music composition, delivery and longevity!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because they play good music and they are one of the very few metal bands that have strong meaning behind the lyrics!.!.!.
Even in one of their songs, they sing about the war in iraq and how people are always complaing about their president even when they were the ones who elected him!
