Why is it that washed up musicians who basically have one hit seem to always be in the spotlight more then musicians who are still creating music and are living a 'normal' life!.!.!.!.this occured to me when I saw Brett Michaels on his reality love show!.!.!.argh

In answer to your question I have no idea!. The only thing I can figure is that is their way of making sure the *celebrities* are okay and still alive and well!. Plus if their is drama or a love quarrel or something like that!. Drama=Ratings Ratings=Money Money=Greed Greed=More Crappy Reality Shows MCRS=Fail!.

Because creating music has nothing to do with being a rock/pop star and American/British Tabloid culture LOVES a wash up, look at all the Pete Doherety articles, is there really any reason they are covering Babyshambles other than the poor nut does a lot of crack and they can pretend he is a tragic hero!? Or Gary Glitter (a penultimate one hit wonder) gets more coverage than he ever did for music for touching children (not that he should be allowed to, but he's a reprehensible pedo, we get it, please stop talking about him in "music news")!. also its partially because good music worth talking about isn't being made for the most part, for every article Rolling Stone can spit out of its fetid, intellectually devoid womb about Fall Out Boy, they have to cover SOMETHING else and it is unlikely they will cover indie music (note: I mean actual independent bands, because they are difficult to listen to and tend to avoid mainstream publications like the plague) or rap (because "rock" magazines are above shallow materialism and objectifying women!.!.!. yeah!.!.!. definitely)!. With the success of terrible reality shows about has been's, there has been a huge market for news about people that were formerly news worthy so we have to hear about them or have to start liking better music!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Washed up musicians are in the spotlight more because our media and our society as a whole feeds on the failure of others!. Honestly, we're just trying to watch the train derail into the orphanage, watching people who used to be better than us slide downhill and eventually die of an overdose or suicide or some ****!. Without this spectacle, there would be nothing to make the common members of our society less miserable as they live out their dull, meaningless lives in which they never got even that one moment in the spotlight!.
