Question: Why does an orchestra absolutely have to have a conductor!. Cant they play without one!. After all they!?
can all read music!. Most of the time they have their eyes on the musical score anyhow!. Does the conductor waving his arms around really matter !?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
the orchestra sets the tempo and conducts the various dynamics of the composition!. If a conductor well rehearses an orchestra, the orchestra can conceivably play the piece perfectly, but it might be a more dynamic performance if the conductor is present!. If the conductor is not present, usually the conductor is substituted by the first chair violin player!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
