Umm!.!.!. They were extremely influential and successful!. I'm guessing you were too young (or not alive) at the time to remember!. True, they never get brought up too much nowadays or are really not relevent this generation, but they were extremely successful and influenced hip-hop as a whole!.

This is the most "asked" question of all time!. They would have been just as successful because it was their LYRICS and RHYMES of the time period that made them so successful!. They spoke of a time period of partying and getting wild and a "right to party" that everyone could relate to!.!.!.much like people now relate to "gangsta rap"!. I think color may have played somewhat of an issue but the music would have sold no matter what color they were!.
