Answers:
the record labels like to keep new products under wraps until release!. The production run takes place close to the launch date!. The record stores have to clear space ready for the new releases!. So what normaaly happens is that the week before release the CDs are made!. They are shipped on the Thursday and arrive on the Monday!. On the Monday, the shop staff remove the "old" new releases and get the store ready for the new releases!.
They also have promo items to price up and posters etc to arrange!. They do this on a Monday because that's traditionally the slowest day for retail, especially for "weekend" items such as discretionary youth-targetted purchases such as CDs!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

I've noticed it too!. Dvd's are also released on Tuesdays as well!. I'm not sure why they do it though!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
