Willie Nelson fans:Don't you find this offesive?!

Question: Willie Nelson fans:Don't you find this offesive!?
Today I went to the 17th Annual Austin Powwow and American Indian Heritage Festival, in Sunset Valley, Texas!. They have lots of booths with jewelry, t-shirts, etc!. One both had t-shirts that say "My heroes have always killed Cowboys!."
I myself am not a Native American, but my step-grandfather is!. I've known him most of my life and have grown up around the Native American culture!. I enjoy learning about and seeing the culture!. I would like to emphasize that I have nothing against Native Americans/Indians!. But I found this t-shirt very offensive and just made me mad!.

Well, yeah--that is quite offensive!.

Of course, if you turned that phrase around and said, "My heroes have always killed Indians," you know that that would definitely not be allowed!. Honestly, that's the truth!.

In order to stop discrimination, people are basically now able to discriminate against what is considered the "majority!." White people, that is!.

Any discrimination is ridiculous and any racist comments (anything along those lines) is as well and should not be allowed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well, luckily only one booth sold these t-shirts, and hopefully did not do well!. Unfortunately the Indians have always been the under the dogs in the United States, especially when it comes to civil defense and discrimination!. But, they have not forced their culture on others as some racist groups do!. Indians are the true Americans, I have much respect for them!. In fact, I admire them!. I believe many people have Indian heritage as I do!. I think the shirts are racists, offensive, derogatory, and down right disgusting!. If I were there, I would have told him that!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Not sure if you have ever heard of Geronimo Trevino, but he has an album out called "My heroes have always killed Cowboys" as far as finding it offensive, yeah I guess in a way it is but now a days it doesn't surprise me and it's only a phrase used to market their products!. Some people like that!. I guess it's to each his own, If you don't like it don't buy it!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

To be honest I'd think that Native Americans would be bothered by this!. When I first saw it I thought the idea was kinda funny, but I wouldn't want that representing me if I was an Native American!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

you should of expressed your concerns to the booth owners!.!.!. i think it is offensive personally alsoWww@Enter-QA@Com

that is kind of offensive, but nothing to get all worked up overWww@Enter-QA@Com

any kind of predjudice written or spoken is offensive!.!.!. sorry you had to see that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's supposed to be a joke!. Only other Natives understand our humor sometimes!Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you saw a tshirt worn by an American military person praising those who have killed to preserve 'freedom and democracy' that too would be offensive!.

It is always offensive to make heroic the taking of human life!. even when we are really praising 'fighting for' something!.

But when we see shootup affairs that pit cowboys and indians in lethal combat, or Indians and the cavalry and you always come away rooting for the Indians, you can understand why this sentiment comes to be!. Any hero to an Indian is someone who killed those mythical cowboys who were forever killing Indians in our folklore!.

I am only 3/32 Native American, and I know it was never about being a cowboy, but being a killer of Indians that makes a Native regard killing your kind a heroic act!. It is the mythical cowboy, not the real cowboy that goes about killing Indians with impunity!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's interesting that people expect Native Americans accept such things but when it's applied to themselves then it's offensive!.

If Native Americans try to point that out, they are told they are being honored, (eg, tomahawk chop)

So we just make fun of their ignorance To make my point, here's a few more in reverse!.

? How much white are you!?
? I'm part white myself!.
? I learned all your people's ways in the Boy Scouts!.
? My great-great-grandmother was a full-blooded white American Princess!.
? Funny, you don't look white
? Where's your powdered wig and knickers!?
? Do you live in a covered wagon!?
? What's the meaning behind the square dance!?
? How much money do you get from your Las Vegas casinos!?
? We gave you land what more do you want!?
? Hey, can I take your picture!?
