Question: Is Classic Rock a Way of Saying "Old Rock" Or Is It a Sound!?
bq:fav!. bowie songWww@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
i think it's a genre, because imo there are a lot of bands from that era that you just can't put into another subgenre, the same way you can put a band like pink floyd and tag them as prog

I see it as Rock that is over 25 years old!.It really depends on the definition of the years on most "Classic Rock" radio stations!. On some occasions, two eras of classic rock radio are indicated!. Some define "Early Classic Rock" from the sixties-seventies and Some say "Late Classic Rock" from the seventies-eighties!. I see it as more of a time thing than a sound thing!. If a band had a Classic Rock sound, I would say that!. I would not call them "Classic Rock" if they were not a band that was around over 25 years ago!. I don't know!. I am kind of funny that way!. I grew up in the 60's and 70s and was a young adult in the 80's so the music of those times is what I see as being Classic Rock!. the 50's are "Oldies" see what I mean!?

Revision!.!.I forgot the Bowie song!.!.!.!.

Classic Rock are old rock songs that were so good that people are still listening to them today!. They are still popular!. Nobody has forgotten them and even people who were not yet born at the time of the songs release love them!.

Not all old rock songs are classic rock!.

bq: Probably "The little drimmer boy" duet with Bing Crosby and Space Oddity!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I used to think it was synonymous with 70's rock!. However, in the last year I've heard Green Day, Pearl Jam, G N' R, and Nirvana on the local "Classic Rock" station!. I now think they classify anything that's 15 years old as classic rock!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

it's songs that were made at a certain time!. like late sixties to early eighties, i'd say!. but it also has a certain sound that i don't think anything else has really ever had!.

probably "Suffragette City", or "Rock N' Roll Suicide"!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Classic Rock is from the late 60's and the 70's any thing older than that would be considered oldies or old rock!. Classic Rock is more of a sound tho because there are some artists that play in the classic rock style even now!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's more of a sound really!. It's more psychedelic and bluesy compared to modern rock!.
bq: I hate to admit it, but i've never heard any of his songs!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

A little bit of both, Old rock is obviously a little more calm then the hard thrash there is these days!. But it mostly means Old rock, in my opinion!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
