Well the Cure just released a new album (although I don't recommend getting it - its no where near as good as their 80s and 90s stuff)!.

Sleater-Kinney only recently broke up (well, "on hiatus" but I think we all know what that means)!. I already really miss them!. Dig Me Out is such a great album!. and The Woods was fantastic!.

But yeah, I get your meaning!. We're in post-grunge still, it feels like that's been going on forever, and that stuff is pretty terrible!.
I recommend picking up the new Subways album from this year - it might start a "Grunge Revival" movement - I would love to see that!.

As long as I have my old albums, they'll never truly be dead to me lol

edit: Mombius Hibachi
awesome song!.
I love the Melvins, but I'm pretty sure they only like me as a friend!.
How are you liking the new line-up (with Big Business) and the new sound they have going!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Punk died at the end of the seventies and grunge was a cheap way of, "reviving," it, when in reality these bands stole all the attitude of punk bands and kept none of the ethics!. Thus you have so called punk bands signed to major labels, selling out concerts, and making platinum albums!. It's despicable!. It's gross to see Nirvana deified while Television, a band with infinitely more talent and originality, remains but a distant memory of those around CBGB's in the seventies!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think grunge never caught on!. Yeah it seemed for a time it was the "in" thing, but I really didn't like it!. Punk is still around in many underground places!. You'll have a live audience following more than anything else!. But, heavy metal is always around!. Bands like ac/dc, who are getting pretty old, are selling out places all over the country!. They only have to play a few places to make the same amount of money that others had to do in a complete year long tour!. Even though I'm getting to be an old fart myself, I still liked the Clash, Cure, & Ramones!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Radiohead isn't punk or grunge!. Grunge died in like 1995!. Souixie was never punk either, they were New Wave!. Porno for Pyros isn't in those categories either!. Neither was pretty much most of what you mentioned!. Maybe someone needs to actually introduce you to punk that knows something!. I see no mention of the Subhumans, Circle Jerks, Lard, MCD, etc!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

no they're not dead at all!.!.!.!.!.!.bands like Nirvana, Everclear, Radiohead, Third Eye Blind, The Clash etc!. get played on modern rock stations all the time and i have some of their records that i still listen to

also some of those bands are still touring and releasing records, just because people say that grunge died around 1996 or 1997 and punk died in the 80's does not make it trueWww@Enter-QA@Com

Yes I do know and love most of those bands, and there are a few others on here who do too!.!.!.

but to answer your Q: No Punk is not dead, Yes grunge is!. At least in certain lights!.!.!. in the light if they are still palying it then no niether is dead, in the light of are people still making it then yes grunge is dead, punk is not though!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Punk is still very strong!. Anyone who claims otherwise is either a music snob for the sake of being negative, or just doesn't know how/where to find it!. They probably find every album they need at Best Buy! LOLOLOLOL!!!!! Yeah that's Punk Rock!

But Grunge is long gone!. Although some of those bands still play, new ones aren't as common as they could be!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

most of what you listed was 80's!.!.!.!.
from the 90's there were 311, Sublime, and Smashing Pumpkins -although they fall into 80's as well!.!.!.
No, punk and grunge are not dead!.!.!. try Riot Brigade for something new!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Hole sucks!.

Courtney killed Kurt and should be prosecuted for it!.

The music is still alive and well!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

grammar might be, never really got into your mainstream grunge; and punk, well i love punk but i cant really get into the any of the more recent punk bands!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes i remember Nirvana like 8 years ago but that was still a long time after Kurt pulled the trigger!. Pearl Jam is still around though!. Garbage was pretty cool too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The 90's!?!?!?!? Kid, Punk died when the Clash kicked Mick Jones out of the group in Sept 1983!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

of course they are not dead
they are evergreensWww@Enter-QA@Com

hell ya i miss it

Www@Enter-QA@Com
