Help with electric guitar pickups to play blues rock?!

Question: Help with electric guitar pickups to play blues rock!?
I have a mexican made fender deluxe power stratocaster and I dont like the way it sounds because it has tex-mex pick ups (single at the neck and middle positions and a humbucker at the bridge position) however I love the way it feels so I just want to change the pick ups!. I love the sound of classic rock such as cream and clapton is probably my favorite of all time so Im looking to get his sound!. I know nothing about picking out pick ups so if some one could recommend specific ones that will fit my guitar i would be so grateful!. I dont have a ton of money but I still want some good pick ups so feel free to recommend anything!. Thanks for your helpWww@Enter-QA@Com

back when clapton played with cream he used a Gibson SG model!. A lot of his tone was the amp and pedals combined with the guitar!. I'm not sure if changing your pickups will help much!. If you do go that route however, a Gibson PAF or Gibson 57 humbucker at the bridge may help some!. The neck an middle pickup are single coil, not much you can do there except route the body and put a humbucker at the neck!. That was also part of his sound in the 60's!. Clapton plays a Strat these days, I think on his signature guitar he uses Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups!. All single coils!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you have any money, save it and keep your guitar the way it is!.Original is all ways better!. Save and buy one that fits you blues needs, that way you can cover different styles!. also try different amps and effects, that might get you there!. Try the latter first, effects are fairly cheap these days, look for amps at pawn shops or yard sales!. That may change the sound with out changing the guitar!. Original all ways has a better re-sale value!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

it depends do you hate the way all the p/u sounds!? i tried the tex mex p/u in a jimmie vaughan strat i think and i wasnt quite thrilled!. but some i was looking at were the were the custom 54' p/u by fender or maybe the noisless p/u try them because i haven't as far as the humbucker if you'd like to keep it see the seymore duncan page and see what's good for you!. if you live in the u!.s!. try http://www!.musiciansfriend!.com/ Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'd lose the humbucker for a start!. Changing pickups is fairly easily if you can solder!. You haven't told us what amp you're playing it through as that makes an enormous difference!. Bear in mind that people like Clapton can afford to have p/ups specially made for them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
