I'm almost 100% sure that's it!. They sound a bit like Spadau Ballet, and I'm guessing that when you heard "I need a new love" it was actually "I'm only human", but as you said the sound was probably bad!.
also, when you heard "more than make mistakes" it was actually "Born to make mistakes"!. I've heard that song many times and it's catchy, when I read your lines it just clicked in my mind!.
