Why is Oasis regarded as such a great band?!

Question: Why is Oasis regarded as such a great band!?
They've been ripping off Lennon and McCartney (John in particular) for their entire career!. Don't get me wrong, I loved "Wonderwall" and "Morning Glory"!. I thought they were brilliant!.!.!.still do!. But after that, seriously, is there any reason to listen to any other record!? Will they just continue to do the same thing!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's a matter of opinion!.Yes, there hasn't been a drastic change to their sound!.That could be because the Gallaghers still believe in true Rock 'n Roll, meaning no unneccesary studio gimmicks or electronic elements being implemented in their songs!.They have put out two great albums in a row now & a lot of people still enjoy them!.Their not as big as they once were but they'll still sell out shows all over Europe!.
Noel Gallagher's comments should be taken with a pinch of salt!.It's just his tongue in cheek sense of humour!.He likes taking the piss, only nobody realises he's doing it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Actually I love Oasis and it's all a matter of opinion plus all though Noel and Liam have crappy attitudes or whatever!. They still are a brilliant band!. The Gallagher brothers have a reputation for being jerks but their music and talent makes up for it!. A lot of people love them and a lot of people hate them or dislike them but once again it's all a matter of opinion!. I happent to love them!. Especially because of their song "Don't Look Back In Anger"!. That song si amazing and they are a wonderful band!. This is just my opinion but I know some people who would agree with me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

True, and it's unusual to like a band and still say "all their songs sound the same"!. But i kind of know what you mean with Oasis!. They should have disappeared after just the two albums in my opinion!. It's ridiculous how much recognition they still get (although someone said not in the U!.S!. i think!. But I can tell you everyone in England gets ridiculously excited when a new single comes out and says it's the best thing ever all over again)!. I can't see them doing anything different now!. I think the only time they really "developed" was between Definitely Maybe and What's The Story, and even then the songs were just kinda catchier!. I guess Whatever was different, but even that was just Oasis with some strings chucked over it (which is how I usually describe the Verve)!. So I guess my main point is I agree with you!. For the record I loved She's Electric though!. The only song I really like that's not on the first two albums is probably The Hindu Times, from Heathen Chemistry!. Not a deviation in any way, just another good song!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Oasis suck man, the fact they have to resort to bashing talented bands is just pathetic!.!.!.!.!.Dom posted a question hours ago and Noel Gallagher was quoted as saying "Radiohead have been making the same music for the past 5 years"!.

Which is quite stupid seeing as Radiohead have only made one album in the past 5 years!. Oasis have made the same album since 1994!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Evidently, they aren't regarded that way in the US!. So far, they have had only one Top-10 hit and that was in 1996!. They haven't been on the charts since!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Their not a great band! All their songs sound the same
and when people talk about Oasis its always about how the brothers fight with each other!. No one ever talks about the music!
their so lameWww@Enter-QA@Com

"There is no God!." (On learning Westlife had beaten Oasis, U2 and The Beatles in an album chart battle in November 2006)

Noel's a genius!. A living legend!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I have no idea!. I never liked them from day 1, wonderwall really got on my nerves and i can't stand Liam!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I know!.!.!.I don't get it!.!.!.it's simple music they create!.!.but whatever sells I guessWww@Enter-QA@Com
