always wondered whyWww@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
They decided to quit separately!. Tony Meehan (drummer) left in 1961, planning to become an A & R guy with Decca!. Jet Harris left in 1962, encouraged by the success of Duane Eddy as a solo guitarist!.
He had a couple of minor hits on his own, but found the tramnsition from playing bass with The Shadows to playing lead on his own quite tricky, so when a partnership with Tony was suggested, he was all in favour!.
After three major hits, Harris was involved in a serious car accident which left him unable to play, so Meehan formed the Tony Meehan Combo, and continued in that direction for a while before going back to A & R!. Sadly he died in an accident at home three years ago!.
Harris did go back to playing eventually, but the whole scene had changed, and he never re-captured that early success!. He can still be found on some of the 60s nostalgia tours!.

Im not sure with out reading up about it but i think they were together
for about 20 years i could be wrong, most of that time they were the backing band for Cliff Richard
You will find that after 20 years of playing they probably decide there was more to life and got fed up with it> i dont think there were ever any major fall outs with one another!.
Hank !? i forgotten his surname the lead guitarist now lives here in Australia he has done for many a yearWww@Enter-QA@Com

Jet left due to disagreements while on tour according to the story of the shadows, what disagreements I don't know!. ;)Www@Enter-QA@Com
