Question: What is your take on John Mayer!?
What's it gonna be!.!. do you think he's extraordinary or do you hate him for one reason or another!?
My [kick @ss, good-ear-for-music] Mom got tickets for a concert he was lined up for at our local fair in July!. She invited me to go with her, and I was happy to do so!. Let me just say that I was completely blown away!. I was not expecting his great showmanship and explosive talent! He rocked my socks off!. He is definitely a knowledgeable and respectable guitar player!. He's also quite the character!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I saw him last Winter in Syracuse!.
He was really good and we had fansastic seats!.!.!.2nd row on the left side!.
He gets kind of a bad rap as a pretty boy, crooner, whatever!. Fact is, he's a heck of a guitar player and writes some pretty good songs!.
I like his blues trio better than his popular stuff, but thats not to say the top 40 stuff ain't bad!.
One thing about the concert I saw that was funny, is that the girls out numbered the guys about 50 : 1!. And every guy that WAS there, including myself, was there with a female companion!.

Oh yeah!. There also was ZERO pot smoke smell!. First time I've ever been to a concert where you didn't at least get a whiff of the green stuff!Www@Enter-QA@Com

A lot of people that i know hate him because he does covers of Panama, Free Falling, Bold As Love, Wait Till Tomorrow, and such!.!.but don't even both to listen to his stuff with the John Mayer Trio before making a final judgement on him!. I also hate those people who insult mayer by calling him a "pop star"!.!.those people need to listen to the "Try!" and "Where The Light Is" albums before they can make a judgement on mayer!. His first two albums are good in terms of pop music, but his third is amazing!. His touring with the bluesmen really comes through in that, but he still keeps his pop sensibility!.
Plus, he covered Kid A by radiohead, and pulled it off!. That deserves respect!.

his guitar playing is as good as anyones prominant today! but on the whole im not a big fan, his voice is what i dont like about him, it seems a put on & lacks the feeling you get from the blues singers of years gone by!. that being said i can fully understand why some people adore his music!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
