I think rap "music" is, to put it bluntly, a piece of crap!. It's people talking fast to a beat, it isn't music - sorry!. That's called talking with a beat!. Why doesn't anyone listen to real music anymore but would instead listen to a guy making millions of dollars by talking about illegal drugs and beer and sluts and sex!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

The beautiful thing about rap or even music as a whole is that there's something for everyone!. In hip-hop music, anything and everything is discussed!. Sex, drugs, money, wealth, poverty, parties, guns, violence, women, politics, stories, hardships, obstacles, success, family, friends, hate, love, and everything else you can think of!. Not everyone is going to share your same views!. Some people enjoy things that you hate and vice versa!.
It's not people talking fast to a beat!. Like in other mainstream musical forms like R&B, funk, and disco, it goes on an 8 count!. Rappers are usually aware that to stay on beat, they go with the flow on the 8 count!. You were thinking of spoken word!. That's talking over a beat but they stay on beat as if it were a song too!.

Im not going to come on here and get mad at you for your opinion, because its your opinion!. But different people consider different things to be music!. If you compose a guitar solo with no singing then its still music!. If you beat on a desk to a rhythym or hum a melody, its still music!. So theres no reason why words cant be considered music as well!. And i understand that you hear crap music, because thats all the radio plays-ignorance!.But if you dig deep enough you'll find rap artists that will blow you away with thoughtful lyrics!.Like im african american and i grew up in a not so proper place and i used to hate rock because all they did was scream, but i grew to accept it and appreciate it!. No!. Hip hop is built on sampling!. there are many musical movements, and it is unfiar to judge hip hop on the fact that it samples records!. When rappers sample, they aren't stealing or plagiarising, they are merely paying homage to the artist who made the record!. Rhyming is not as easy as you make it to be!. Rhyming is quite tough as you have to get a good flow and make lines which don't sound foolish!. Rap is music, Rap is sampling!. you can't hide from that!. Just because it borrows, it doesn't make it non music!. Popular music (ie the genres rock, classical, blues, hip hop, jazz, country etc) borrows from art music and tribal music!. Hip hop is different to other genres, that doesn't make it bad!. embrace change!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You're also judging hip-hop based on MTV!. I bet i'd start a mini-riot in the rock section if i judged all of Rock music on Fallout Boy and My Chemical Romance and The Jonas Brothers!.
I play a 4 instruments and my singing voice isn't exactly great!.
Compared to people who have singing as their main talent, I can't sing!. Am i not musically talented because i can't sing!? A bum with a harmonica in my opinion is musically talented if he can carry a tune!.
