Fugazi!. People give emo too much crap!. Early emo (Rites of Spring, Sunny Day Real Estate) wasn't all that bad!.
If emo is just whining, punk rock is just whining with ridiculous political ideals!.
As I see it, early emo was just an offshoot of melodic hardcore that was more personal and less political lyrically!.
There is nothing I hate more than the twelve-year-old who calls himself emo, has ridiculous hair, pretends to cut himself, buys stupid clothing at Hot Topic and loves My Chemical Romance!. Ian MacKaye is a strong role model!. Pete Wentz isn't!.
And how many times do I have to say that Kurt Cobain did not start grunge!? Green River, The Melvins, etc!. all predated Kurt Cobain!. He popularized grunge!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
