Any professional singers or voice majors...?!

Question: Any professional singers or voice majors!.!.!.!?
I am neither, but I do still sing with many choirs at my university!. Recently (as in within the past week or so), I've been developing pain in my larynx, particularly when doing a vocal sigh in my upper register!. I initially thought I was just getting sick, but it hasn't gotten any worse and I haven't developed any other symptoms!. My first thought immediately jumps to vocal nodes or something like that!. Is there anyone out there who has experienced these who could guide me in the right direction!? It doesn't hurt /badly/, per se, but it is noticeable, and I don't want to strain my voice!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
1) Stop singing RIGHT NOW until you determine what the problem is!.

2) Go to see a laryngologist to be examined for nodes or polyps!.

3) Get a real voice teacher!. Those "vocal exercises" etc!. are dangerous if your technique is not perfect and it sounds like you have a technical problem which can probably be solved with a few lessons!. Find a teacher who can exactly explain the physiology of sound production to you and help you understand exactly which muscles are not working as they should, exactly how they should work, and exactly how to fix it!. There are unfortunately a lot of people who call themselves voice teachers, some with high-powered degrees or training, who don't know what they are doing and many of those people end up as choir directors and ruin dozens of lovely voices!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
