Perhaps its just my perception, but every set of plains I've ever used went out of tune/sounded crappier than the wounds I've used!.
I don't bend on the G often, but a wound string ain't stopping me!. =)

Well I like my strings extra heavy I use 11- 50 and sometimes 11- 52
most of the time 11- 50!. as far as my G string no I would never play with a Nickle or Steal wound G string and I would never go beyond 20 ga!. as well!. However, I do have buddies that are Jazz musicians and some of those guys dont do a lot of BENDING full steps / half steps so I do know Jazz players that use wound G strings and they use like 12- 56 or 12- 70 something like this 12, 15, 24 ect ectWww@Enter-QA@Com
