Question: R&P: are you ever afraid you'll hurt your friends feelings!?
my friends feed me bands that they like all the time and most of the time i like them or really like them, but one of my friends just told me to check out "shwayze" and i really really really didnt like it!. its not bad i just dont like the style, it really annoyed me!. but i dont like to be like "that band sucks" because i know they really like the band!.

At your age man yeah your going to be self-conscious of those kind of things maybe even sometimes in the best interest of how it will effect your friend tell them that you like it or its cool because at your age having friends is very important right now!. As you get older that will change I mean its always important to have friends and its luxury but later you will find that hey if you don't like something oh well you are going to tell it like it is regardless of what people think!.
Just be honest and tell them the truth in a kind way and if they are really your friends they will respect you more for telling them the truth and the way it is, if they get pissed then they are not your friends so Fu** Um find other friendsWww@Enter-QA@Com

No, if I do not like the band, I will not bash them, but say something along the lines of "They are not my style!." If they want me to elaborate on why I do not like them, I do, but I do not bash!. I just do not see the point in lying and saying that I like a band I do not!. My friends are old enough that they should be fine with someone liking different things with them, and I would never want them to lie to me about liking a band I like just to please me!. Lol, one of my friends (well she used to be my friend, not so much anymore) always used to send me links to Paramore's new songs and got really offended if I didn't listen to it because they were her favorite band, she kept on doing this even though she knew I didn't like them!. It got really annoying!.

I am not terrible social, but I do have a few frends from a metal bar I go to occasionally who I talk music with!. Sometimes I like their suggestions, sometimes not!. Most of my friends think its time to switch to something like the Goo Goo Dolls, or some other adult contemporary crap!. ( or whatever it is called ) They don't suggest, otherwise the next time they are in my car, I will blast Tool the whole time!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
I'm usually really honest when my friend recommended Fall Out Boy a few years ago I listened to them for about five minutes than I told her yeah they aren't my thing!. I'm honest and like 99!.9% of the time I like the band or artist!. I know what you mean about Shwayze though I can't get into him at all!. No, I tell everyone exactly what is on my mind and they respect me for it!. (I think!.!.!.!.)

No, I'm old enough now and so are my friends that we can withstand criticisms and tolerate the idea that we won't all like the ame things!. I am friends with people who like all different kinds of stuff not just one genre like many young people who get them selves into musical 'click's'!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Luckily, this very seldom is even an issue for me, but when it has been I will soften the blow!. It doesn't HAVE to be "it totally sucks!." For me it's usually "not my cup of tea" or "I don't know if that's for me" or I will find some redemptive quality (only if there is one) and throw that out to kind of create a sort of "I get it, it's ok" sort of a thing!. I won't be disengenuous about it though (I have had to walk a very, very fine line with my nephews, but I've still held onto my integrity all in all (and I imagine that we can all agree that kids are a different situation entirely)!. As a worst case scenario though, "not my cup of tea" has treated me very well!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
