Question: Was Beethoven(not Joplin) the FIRST to compose ragtime!?
After listening to Beethoven's Piano Sonata No!.32, I realized during the middle of the piece, it becomes very reminiscent to a ragtime composition!. If you have not listened to it, search it on Youtube:)
Does anyone else agree that the maestro Beethoven, a genius as a was, created Ragtime!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Did it occur to you that Scott Joplin listened to Beethoven and developed his style and ragtime from Beethoven's example!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
What is in the sonata #32 is syncopation, not, specifically, ragtime!. If you have to come up with a genuine classical forebearer of ragtime, I'd suggest Louis Moreau Gottschalk!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
