Answers:
LOL !.!.!. You know what you say to her: "Until you play every single note right, in tune, and with good tone!.!.!. don't lecture me on my errors!."
or if she is playing every single note right, in tune, with good tone, and with the correct intonation!.!.!. then you say: "Okay, so would you please teach me how to play it right!."

One of the main things you do to prepare for sight reading is playing scales!.!.!.
Your warm-up should start out with a 15 min long tones exercises
then 15 min of scales working on chromatic, the twelve major scales, arpeggios, intervals, tonguing drill, rhythm basics, etc!.
And always do these warmups with two things in front of you: a metronome and a tuner!.

here is something that might help: check out pages 127-131
page 142
pages 145- 146 (page 146 is talking about the scales vowels!.!.!. its used in the Sound Of Music with julie andrews singing "DOE a deer, RAY a drop of golden sun, ME a name I call myself !.!.!. )
pages (bottom of 147)- 150
pages 161-164
page 166
pages 172-173

Hope this helps you in some way!. Have a peachy day!

P!.S!. When practicing a new peice of literature: start slow while making sure you get every note, rhythm, dianamic, and articulation correct!.!.!. then work your way up to the actual tempo!. Good Luck! :-)Www@Enter-QA@Com

You can print off a note chart with the fingerings which will help you know where the notes are
!.
also if you try to always read a note ahead you shouldn't fall behind working out the other notes!.

Even though, if you're in exams the examiner gets really peeved off at it, you can keep tempo by tapping your foot to the beat!.

If all else fails, or you have money!. A metronome is a really good investment for scales, timing, annoying ticking etc!. !. Set it at the tempo you can play at, you can set it faster later then try counting with it for a bit, get the speed in your head!. Say you were doing 4/4 time say aloud 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2 etc!. for just crotchets or 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 etc!. which will give you quaver beats which i find easier!. Then with the beat in your head it should be easier!.

Try not to play with the metronome because you will become too relient!.

These have helped me alot since i play piano, flute and clarinet!. I hope they work

Margarett!. =)Www@Enter-QA@Com

just practice it!. it'll get better as you go on
find any tune you can, and try and sight read it, and then get someone to play it, so you can see how you didWww@Enter-QA@Com

maybe you should look into private lessons around your area!.

thats helped me get from 3rd part clarinet to 1st, so i would definitely reccommend it !!!

or just practice alot, and maybe buy a metronome to help practice tempos!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
