as for why!.!.do I really need to go there!? Without a doubt, one of the top 5 most influential nad important Heavy Metal acts PERIOD, and it was Steve Harris' infusion of punk elements that largely inspired the Thrash scene, particularly Metallica!.
When you see influences listed, 3 absolute, every time bands are Sabbath, Metallica and Maiden!. AND!.!.!.33 years later they are still going strong!. Sabbath gave us Metal, but IMO, Iron Maiden perfected the formula!.

This may not qualify for a horror movie, but more a suspense/thriller!.
I would have to go with Ellen Page in "Hard Candy"!. This was 3 years before she was the star of "Juno"!. She is absolutely amazing and frightening!.
